Day 261: July 19 – A Job Well (Almost) Done

I’ve spent the past 2 days installing the artwork and accessories at 2 different dementia units in different parts of Ohio. The finishes (carpets and walls and such) are (almost) done. The furniture arrived earlier this week. The draperies are hung. The gardens are being planted as we speak. This represents the culmination of over a year and a half of work by dozens of people in each of these 2 locations. And I must say, they are really going to be amazing places to live for people who deserve a space that is warm and comfortable, in addition to safe and secure. I am pretty proud today of the work that is coming together. Residents will be able to start moving in very soon.

But also, I’m glad this week is over. It’s worth it, but it sure takes a toll.

Today I am thankful to have a job that makes such a positive impact on people’s lives. And I am also thankful that weeks like this don’t happen very often. I’m bushed.
